Tableaux of Dreams – All in my mind

This is a work in three parts – All in my mind, All that I know, and Journey through life. It is a highly individual and deeply personal collection of paintings, drawings and etchings.

1970s

I travelled a great deal as a young artist and rarely had access to a studio, so for me drawing became an essential tool for the exploration and development of my art.

1968

Not everything in an artist’s sketchbook is beautifully rendered; it is however important to show the process and keep a good record of thoughts and ideas, even in their early stages of development. This ‘blue’ sketchbook charts the evolution of my Abstract Landscapes series.

Searching for reds…

Louis Vuitton Foundation – I thought I had a pretty good idea of Mark Rothko’s body of work, but this show was a real eye-opener. Congratulations to Suzanne Page and Christopher Rothko on a considered and comprehensive hang.
